Joya de Nicaragua Antano Robusto Review

Joya de Nicaragua Antano robusto cigar review

11/4/2022

Sorry, this is not a full review. Threw out my previous  cigar and lite this one up.  It's been in my humidor for 10+ years.  Back then, I didn't prefer full bodied cigars.  Still prefer medium or medium  to full.  With all this age, it should have smoothed out.  And this particular cigar had a it's foot cracked pretty bad.   But it is burning good now and much better than the piece of mild turd I was smoking.

I've smoked an inch now and it is not that strong so far.  Taste slight pepper and lots of earthy flavors.  Not hoping for much, just want to finish a good night with a decent cigar.

Dropped the one inch ash and has a decent cone.  Still  not much flavor.  Pulling good amounts of smoke.  My palate is changing from bad tastes of the previous Gurkha I tried to smoke to better flavors of caramel and  toasted nuts.  It might take a while, but much better.

Picking up strength.  Tasting more deep molasses and dried fruit.  Has a distinctive toasted walnut taste. Slight creaminess, but now full bodied.  No more bad aftertaste of the terrible Gurkha.  Just taste earthy flavors of toasted nuts and leather.

It's a strong cigar, my vision is fading, but still smooth and creamy draws.

Yeah, I need to re-review.  It's definitely  a good, satisfying cigar.  Now leaving pepper on my tongue with bold flavors of leather and toasted nuts.  A great late night short smoke.  Got 30 minutes in and I'm about done for the night.  It's still kicking in more flavors of cedary wood.  Not overpowering my palate, but I'm feeling  it.  It's late Friday night.

This cigar is now slow and full of flavor.  Still creamy and rich.  All Nicaraguan flavors now.

If you want a quick, full bodied, knock you out for the night, this is it.  I chose right.  I'm fully relaxed.  Play something slow.  Grateful Dead friend of the devil is going on forever.  After this song, I'm out.  Thank you to the cigar.

Overall: 88

Flavor 87, complexity 87, burn 90, experience 90, value 88.
