Fratello Navetta Inverso Toro Grand cigar review

Fratello Navetta Inverso Toro Grand cigar review

1/4/2023

Yay, first smoke and first review for 2023.  Also, first review for Fratello cigar brand.  This is the one and only smoke I've had from them.

Something about Navetta means shuttle for something about the founder, Omar de Friars, who used to work for NASA.  What does that have do with cigar making? I don't know and I would care if it makes it better, but I don't know, so let's just smoke it.

Nicaraguan wrapper, Ecuadorian binder, and Dominican and Nicaraguan fillers.

Right off it is smooth, creamy, and super easy draw.  Taste caramel and some sweet chocolate tastes.  It is a medium smoke for sure and great flavors with strong draws.  Great start.  Definitely a well aged and blended cigar.  I've had it in my humidor for maybe 4 months.

Great night for smoking.  About 55 degrees out.  A little fire going.  Just finished some Old Forester Bourbon, which really brings out the caramel flavors of this smoke.  It's definitely  a sweet cigar, leaves a nice caramel chocolate flavor on your palate.  No harshness at all.

I guess I hope it strengthens. It just too smooth.   Not mild, just full of toasted marshmallow sweetness.  I think I could smoke this any time of the day and be satisfied.  But, I'm not even midway through.  If it strengthens, it is damn great cigar.

It is building some deeper flavors.  I now taste some toasted fruits, like cherry and berries.  A little subtle undertone of leather that a stronger Nicaraguan would have.  All this flavor while it still hasn't dropped it first ash.  Come on.  This is definitely a great cigar that everyone should try.  Let me  search the price.  We'll, it ain't cheap, about $10 a smoke.  But, worth it if you want a truely enjoyable smoke.

The last third is stronger.  The same flavors now are more bold and have a toasted flavor.  Great strong flavors left on my palate.  Toro is perfect size.  50 minutes in and it has built up to almost a full flavored cigar.

Not one touch up and it is still super smokey with clouds of full flavor.  It's worth the 10 bucks for sure.

An hour in and it is just getting better and better.  Palate is left with strong cedar and oak, along with the original caramel flavors.  Still super smooth.

Great finish.  This is definitely a cigar I will buy more of.  Very complex and always enjoyable.  This might be one of the best I've smoked in the last year.

Overall: 94

Flavor 94, complexity 95, burn 94, experience 94, value 94.
