Oliva Serie G Figuardo cigar review

Oliva Serie G Figuardo cigar review

2/18/2023

Ive been mostly reviewing new cigars or at least new to me.  This Oliva G Cameroon smoke is definitely not new to me. It's one of my favorites  and I will be dumbfounded if I review it poorly or at least a 90.  I'm half done with my box and and half done wit my second box of churchhills.  Yeah they are that good if you find them at the right price, which isn't that hard to do.  It's a $4 to $5 smoke if you shop around and we'll worth it at that at price.  I rate them based on the common prices from the past.

I've always like figuardos, not for so much the flavor but more for the custom hand roll art of making a human made cigar that delivers exactly what the intent was originally.  If done right, it is great.  Usually it is worth the extra effort and usually only a few bucks more.  And this is a large Figuardo, about Toro size.  Most are robusto size.

OK, OK, I'm smoking it.  It is smooth, medium with good flavors of chocolate, caramel and some spice.  Barely medium and very smooth.  I've been playing my fire.  Not bad on this Saturday night.  About 45 out.  Great smoking weather with absolutely no wind.

You can see in the picture it is running slightly.  I do touch it up.  Still burning great.

It so far is a great sweet caramel flavor with hints of graham cracker and smores.  I bit of deep earthy taste on my palate.  Definitely Nicaraguan, but medium and not at all overwhelming.

Very loose draw.  Smoking quicker than I remember, but all at once flavor explosion. No complaints, as it is very good, smooth, never hot or harsh, just full flavors of sweetness and toasty smores taste.  So loose on the draw that I can just sip it.  Now I remember why I like these.  This box is over a year in my rotation.

(Sorry rant - please apple stop telling me to turn down my volume.  For God's sake, I'm listening to the volume I like so stop telling me to turn it down.).

Alright.  Now jamming led zeppelin How many more times.  Who actually turns it down  because Apple says so? How do you disable such crap?

Anyway. The cigar is still medium.  More earthy flavors, more chocolate flavors, and still so smooth  and great.

40 min in and this is just been all about great flavors.  It doesn't transition much, but it is all good flavor.

Yeah I want it to go longer.  But no complaints.  It's burning perfect.  Every puff leaves my palate full of great flavors.

Yeah, you have to smoke it to the nub to appreciate all it has. I guess I like a smoke  like this. It never has a bad taste. It fully delivers.

Jerry Garcia everybody needs somebody to love is a great end to this one.

Even til the end it tastes great and I feel fully satisfied.  I'm gonna smoke it again soon.

Overall: 92

Flavor 94, complexity 91, burn 92, experience 94, value 92.
