Montecristo Nicaragua Toro cigar review

 Montecristo Nicaragua Toro cigar review

12/5/25

Been a long time since I've done a cigar review. That doesn't mean I haven't been smoking some really good ones and some new ones that you should be anxious to try. This is not a new one but a smoke by AJ Fernandez for Montecristo that is guaranteed to be good. First time trying so I'm expecting a 95+ smoke.  I'm a huge AJ fan.

This one is all Nicaraguan. And it's Montecristo so it should be guaranteed to be be flavorful and burn perfectly.

It's a cold night out, about 43, but not too windy. Was trying to watch college football but let's be real. Who wants and who cares to watch the American and Sun Belt conference? Join the FCS. Not going to lie, being from south Georgia, I could make a team of high school players in my region that could beat half these teams.

Anyways, let's light it up. Right away it is burning good with lots of smoke. Good medium wood and leather taste but subtle. Just burns pretty smooth. No touch up.

After an inch it is adding more flavors.  Does it go with my 130 proof Chinese liquor? Actually, I think it does. The Chinese liquor is pretty sweet. This ain't a sweet cigar but has a slightly sweet aftertaste.  All I know is it's tasting good.

It seems real smooth now. Just a good lingering sweet tobacco taste.

Burning a little fast but full of smoke and flavor.  Maybe smoked 2 inches in 20 or more minutes. That's not bad, about a third gone.

Really good. Medium flavor and strength throughout but flavors change making it very interesting. Can taste some pepper now. Now leaving a cedary taste.  Did I mention it goes great with s strong sweet liquor? And a RC Cola? Yep. It does.

It's just full of smoke now. Smoking faster than I wished but getting my money's worth. Damn, it's just a great flavored cigar. You got to try it. Not too strong but tons of flavor.

The last inch is getting good. Still not strong but damn good.

About done. Probably a good 45 min smoke that is all around food. Hopes it go an hour.

I'd definitely buy again. Prices are high like $280 a box. I think it coukd be worth it if you can get them on sale. These don't go on sale but I'm going watch these. I think these beat anything $6 a stick.
