Got this one from a brown bag special from Atlantic. Never heard of it. Research says it's made by Crowned Head based out of Nashville. It's made in the My Father's Don Pepin Garcia factory in Esteli Nicaragua.
It's a Ecuadorean Habano Oscuro wrapper with the rest all Nicaraguan. I don't normally talk about the smell before lighting but this one has a good funky smell, meaning it should be full of flavor.
Not gonna lie. This one tastes pretty good immediately. Has a good dark charred cedar and wood flavor that has a touch of sweetness to keep it from being too much wood flavor. Like a dried fruit taste on the aftertaste.
I did have to touch it up at first. Started canoeing. But it's even now.
First fire of this fall. It's like 52 out now with no wind. I guess y'all northerners would be loving it. I like it but I'm not used to the cold yet so I'm close to the fire.
I'd say it's a medium smoke. Really smooth, lots of smoke if you pull on it, and lots of flavor. Still leaves a good flavor on your pallet.
2nd half is getting a lot more sweetness. Almost like a flavored smoke but just a great aftertaste. It is burning quick. It's a flavor bomb, not an easy smoking late night smoke for a long night. It is Monday night, and it's cold out. I'm really enjoying it.
It's just so full of flavor and never any harshness or bite. It's going full flavor now and only leaves more strong good flavors. Don't need a drink. Does it go with the coke and Stratosphere gin? I mean I guess it does. I think this cigar will go anything. It has an overpowering good profile.
I will buy again. It ain't cheap, like $10 a stick. Can get an hour out of this one. If I can buy one a little bigger, it might be one of my favorites. I'm going to try more and I'll pay the premium.
It's giving me even more richness the last inch. It's definitely full flavor now. Is it complex? Yep. It keeps a similar flavor profile but constantly changes its strength and changes from rich wood to dried fruit, then sweet, then not sweet, and then back to a dark wood and dried fruit and cedar profile. Gets stronger each inch. Always leaving such good flavors on my tongue even down to the last nub. Really enjoyable.
Try one and you'll want more.
