Esteban Carreras Chupacabra Habano Robusto Grande re-review

 12/12/2022

Looking back, I reviewed this one a month or so ago and gave it a 94.  Damn that's high.  It must have been really good or I was really drunk.  We'll, that's why I bought  a box.  Let's find out.

Let me say first, I just rehydrated all my humidors today and some were a bit dry.  This one may be dry, but I'd rather have a slightly dry one than a overhumified one that is hard to smoke.  If it was still somewhat green, it may be aged just right.  If was already aged enough it could just be dry.  Let's find out.

So far, the first few minutes are pretty mild and tasty.  A tad dry, but pretty good roasted nut flavors with a hint of cedary spice.  I'm not going to reread my previous review so that I get a true review of this one after a month or two sitting in my humidor.  A good cigar should sit and get better.

Taste many nut flavors.  Pretty good so far. Not really sweet, but taste cashews and walnut tones without any bitterness or harshness.  And it is medium all the way. Just pure flavor. No raw tabaco or earthy flavors as of now, just nutty flavors.  Picking up some spice.

Was drinking Cazadores blanco tequila chasing with coke earlier, so maybe the slight oak flavors of the tequila is on my palate, but very slight.

This is why reviews are so subjective.  You don't know what the reviewer was eating and drinking.  I also had a chicken  con creama home made dish tonight.

All I know, this cigar is smooth and delightful.  It is burning fast. It is definitely drier than it should be, but very good and very smooth and flavorful.  Not hot at all, just strong nutty flavors.  Starting to pick up some roasted oak and molasses flavors.  It really flavors tour whole palate.

And it is definitely strengthening.  Flavors shifting from light nuttiness to roasted oak and charred fruit and molasses.  Add in some roasted walnut.  And I'm feeling it now.  Yeah, I think a 94 rating is appropriate.  Never a bad flavor, it just keeps getting better.

Glad I got a box.  I didn't mention, not one touch up at all.  Burning perfect and clouds of smoke.

Yes, I'm gonna get an hour of perfect smoking.  It's definitely worth paying a few more dollars to get a perfect burning smoke.  The flavor is awesome.  To me, it's hard to realize this is not a top rated smoke.  Oh well.  Buy this one while it's unknown and thank me later.

Last inch is even better.  Stronger, even more oak and roasted nut flavors.  Getting strong, but not overpowering.  It's just good all around.  It's one of my best cigars.

I should finish but why? It's doing everything perfect.  I'm fully relaxed and fully satisfied.  I'm just gonna slowly finish it and finish my night happy.  What more could I want?

Look forward  to smoking  another or another from this brand.  All are top notch.
