5 Vegas Cask Strength Toro cigar review

5 Vegas Cask Strength Toro cigar review

3/6/2023

5 Vegas has been a steady and great brand of Esteli, Nicaragua for many decades. I've been a fan of the brand all of my 20+ years of cigar smoking.

This one has a red Corojo Nicaraguan wrapper with Nicaraguan binder and combo of Nicaraguan and Honduran fillers.

Um, it is not single barrel whiskey cigar but supposedly influenced by the strong alcohol content. These are stronger than most 5 Vegas smokes, but not really full bodied.

Really good mild flavors right away. Like a spicy caramel Christmas spiced coffee flavor.

I need to add that I've had a few of these aging for maybe 5+ years. I see they still sell these. Are mine the same? I don't know. All I know is these seem to have aged very well and are really smooth and flavorful.

Still pretty mild after first inch. Leaves a pretty good mild sweet and spicy taste.

Half way through and it definitely has picked up strength. Sweetness has changed to more earth and raw tobacco taste. Still good.

Not great, but still smooth but with good aftertaste of earthiness with hints of spice and toasted caramel. Very well blended and refined.

Yeah it is strong now and very flavorful. Got to the last third. Seems to smooth out even more but it keeps getting stronger in body. Just right for a late night smoke. I was beginning to think it might turn harsh but it has maintained a very smooth taste profile while gaining strength.

If you buy these now, I highly recommend you to age them a long time, like a few years, to reach full potential. At like $5, these are a great deal. But you need to wait and make it a $7 smoke. Please feel free to come back and thank me 5 years from now.

For the final and one of the most important parts of the review, does it finish well? Short answer is Yes.

Full flavored now and strong. Palate lingers with spice, earthy tobacco flavors. A bit much, but very satisfying.

From mild, sweet and smooth to rich and refined, it is a great smoke.

I look forward to smoking more.

Overall: 90

Flavor 89, complexity 90, burn 92, experience 90, value 92.
